SUMMER SCHOOL

St. Leo the Great Summer School provides academic and enrichment courses over the summer. Students are welcome to attend from both St. Leo’s and other schools. Want to help your child maintain what was learned over the school year? Want to keep your child learning fascinating things over the summer? Sign your child up to join our dynamic staff for the summer. We offer small courses that have been designed to help students learn in a happy and safe environment.

COURSES OFFERED

The day is split into academics in the morning and enrichment courses in the afternoon. Students learn best in the morning which is when they will be reviewing concepts learned over the school year and start learning new concepts so that they’re ready for the next grade level. The subjects reviewed in the morning are: Language Arts, Math, and Religion.

The enrichment courses will be in the afternoon after lunch. There will be two hour long sessions with different activities offered. Each week will be offering something different. The students will be able to choose which enrichment course they will take when the summer session gets closer.

Students are placed into Academic courses based on their age and the concepts that they need to review/learn. For example, if a student has mastered 2nd grade math standards and is entering 2nd grade, we could place the student in a class learning 3rd grade math standards. That same student could be placed in the 2nd grade language arts course. This flexible model makes it possible for students to learn at their pace. Students are assessed at the beginning of the summer session and placed accordingly.

NEW THIS YEAR! – There will be weekly activities offered for all students. This will be a mix of field trips or on-site fun activities for the entire school to enjoy. They will be in the afternoon after the academic courses have finished.

Summer School Fun

“The first thing my son said to me when I picked him up on day one is ‘I love this camp!’ He has said that again at least four times already this week. I think my daughter likes the size of the camp and being able to pick activities in the afternoon. They are very happy this week.” – Current St. Leo Parent
